I dont like the fact that you cant import from Google photos into Zoner. If I get a new program how do I transfer all my photos from Zoner to the new programme? As I am already paying monthly for my Google account I would prefer a once off payment or a free one is it works well. Depending on the program you choose, there may be some method of easily transferring images from one to the other. I was a fan of Picasa a number of years back. Anyone familiar with doing this on a very large scale for a manufacturer with a huge number of product photography shots?

I would recommend doing the following:. Creating a solid folder structure where everything is organized You can do this in Lightroom 2. Adding keywords to the photos so that they can be searched for easily. You can basically do everything in Lightroom — having a logical folder structure is always a great idea and its something I personally do before even considering keywords etc.
Once the basic structure is sorted, you can then use the keyword and search tools present in Lightroom. For example, you mentioned wanting to search for photos by different features like texture, and color — to do this, you would simply add relative keywords to the product photos. At least in the older Canon compacts 15 sec is possible only with ISO You can use any ISO down to 1 second. For any shutter speed slower than 1 second you are limited to the ISO range ISO range of is more then enough for the typical use scenario's of these slow shutterspeeds. We can safely assume all these problems with the original G7X will be present in this version.

I would be interested in this camera but for the lens. I had the original G7X for a short time, but the lens at mm compared to my RXM3 was intolerably bad due to the extreme distortion correction so I sold it. On paper the G7X has a more versatile lens, but potential buyers need to understand this comes at a cost.
Can you post an example of the distortion you got with the mm range? Here are studio shots from Imaging Resource of 24mm images that have been converted from RAW with no distortion correction applied:. Notice how the G7X image with it's black corners - the image circle doesn't even cover the entire sensor. The distortion is also more extreme than the RX III, so it needs to be stretched more when distortion is being corrected, reducing image quality. It was before proper RAW support was available for the G7X so its RAW conversion are in black and white, but it was just to compare the amount of distortion correction that was being applied at wide angles.
Very interesting, but at least your examples can be corrected. Well the macro issue is due to the ambitious lens design too - the distortion at wide angles seems to result in curvature of the focal plane. For a shot like this you'd be better off taking it at mm at the closest focus distance of 40cm at that focal length. Stop down a bit for better sharpness and depth of field. Sure, you'll have to crop it too, but you'll end up with a much more usable image.

The article seems to tend towards image sharpness for the RX but a 3x kit lens zoom and an aperture that slams shut to worst maximum as soon as you touch the zoom ring makes that pretty obvious.
There does not seem to be any interesting discussions of how the different approach to the lens design and Canon's bolder approach has resulted in these difference. A review of a supposedly large sensor fast lens camera with no mention of bokeh and subject separation seems impossible. I must have missed it. It seems more of a spec race than a photography review.

These are different things, designed to meet different demands and accomplish different tasks. Cameras of this size exist for a reason. They are used by travelers, vloggers and many other people that need a tiny feature rich cam that does lots of things acceptably.
You are suggesting they should get a DSLR, that has the same features video capabilities, etc , an equivalent zoom lens oh yeah, that's gonna be way cheaper, right? You not caring about a particular property of a product like its size does not make that property any less valid for others. This is a common thing to say for folks who haven't tried a modern 1" sensor camera. I will buy it if it had great jpeg engine and some fuji like color simulation modes no i read it,the picture modes offered does not come closer to fuji modes if you have seen it and not evencloser to olympus art modes.
